Iain joined Singer & Friedlander in 2000 to establish a private client lending division. The department grew to include an extensive range of products and expertise, from mortgages to super yacht and private jet finance.

Iain was promoted to Director and appointed to the bank’s Credit Committee in 2004 and, in 2008, also took responsibility for the investment management division in the UK through his promotion to Managing Director of Kaupthing Wealth Management. 

Following the Bank going into administration in October 2008, Iain was appointed by the administrators Ernst & Young to head the Bank and manage the recovery strategy.

Prior to joining Singer & Friedlander Iain spent 30 years with Bank of Scotland, occupying various senior positions in business and corporate banking, before being tasked with establishing a new Private Banking operation in the West End of London in 1997. Iain is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland

Darren joined Singer & Friedlander in 2005 as part of the private client lending division.

Following the Bank going into administration in October 2008, Darren was appointed by the administrators Ernst & Young to manage the recovery of the £1,115 million private banking loan book.

Prior to joining Singer & Friedlander Darren spent 3 years at Riggs Bank where he had set up and headed a UK lending division.

Prior to this, Darren was Head of Private Banking in London for FleetBoston Financial where he had worked for 14 years.

Darren has over 20 years Private Banking experience and has specialised in providing structured lending solutions against a range of asset classes, in particular UK property (regulated and non-regulated), overseas property, shares, yachts and aircraft.

Darren holds the ACIB, Securities & Financial Derivatives (SFDR) Diploma and CeMap qualifications.

Andrew joined Singer & Friedlander in 1995 and has worked in various roles including structured/leverage finance and corporate lending. Andrew also ran the bank's successful football finance division.

Following the Bank going into administration in October 2008, Andrew was appointed by the administrators Ernst & Young to manage the recovery of the £631m corporate loan book.

Prior to joining Singer & Friedlander Andrew spent 18 months at MeesPierson (Fortis) and 15 years at Natwest including periods in credit departments in the North and London. Prior to leaving NatWest in 1994 he was responsible for acquiring new corporate business in NatWest's largest City of London Business Centre.

Gareth joined Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander (in Administration) in 2009 to assist in the recovery process, initially of the real estate book and subsequently the pursuit of personal guarantors.

Prior to joining Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander (in Administration) Gareth was a Director in the Real Estate Finance team of Barclays Capital in London and subsequently Dubai.  In Dubai, Gareth was responsible for local Sovereign Wealth Fund coverage with respect to real estate investments and was involved in a number of advisory mandates. 

In London Gareth undertook a number of market leading acquisition financings across the supermarket and private healthcare sectors including the public to private of Somerfield plc.  Gareth also has experience of rating agencies and the ratings process having undertaken a number of corporate real estate securitisations.

Gareth has an MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics and a BSc in Economics from the University of York.

Phillip joined Singer & Friedlander in 1985. After several years assisting with the group accounting process, he moved into a career in banking, initially focussing on non-performing property loans.

In 1997 he was appointed Finance Director of Singer & Friedlander Properties PLC. In 2002 he became Finance Director of the Banking Division, a position that he held until 2006 when he then took on responsibility for underperforming property loans.

Following the Bank going into Administration in October 2008, Phillip worked primarily on property loan recoveries. Since June 2010 his principal responsibility has been controlling the day to day operations of a tenanted residential property portfolio.

Prior to joining Singer & Friedlander, Phillip spent 3 years with Coopers & Lybrand. He is Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, has a joint honours degree in Accounting and Financial Analysis from the University of Warwick and is a Governor of Sarum Hall School.
